Lillian E. Smith Center wildlife walk tomorrow

Tomorrow from 8 until 10am, Piedmont College will hold a wildlife walk at the Lillian E. Smith Center, just outside of Clayton. Jack Johnston, a native plant specialist and avid birder, will lead the walk through forest trails of the Center’s wildlife sanctuary area.

Piedmont’s 150-acre Lillian E. Smith Center serves as an artist retreat and also has outdoor classrooms Piedmont recently designated about 30 acres of the Lillian E. Smith Center as a wildlife sanctuary.

The public is invited, but space is limited for the guided nature walk. The cost per person for the two-hour excursion is $5. Those interested should contact Craig Amason at [email protected] or call 706-894-4204 to reserve their space.
