Council Forced to Wait to Discuss Newest Member

Last Wednesday, the Clayton City Council held their monthly work session, to put the finishing touches on the agenda for their meeting to be held a week later.

One of the highlights of the work session, was the swearing in of three elected council members, and a new mayor.

Willie Fortson and Debbie Chisholm remain on the council after being elected to another term, but there is one council member who has yet to take part in her first official council meeting, that’s Elizabeth Chapman

Also sworn in last week was new Mayor Jordan Green, who will be finishing the remainder of John Bradshaw’s term.

With Green taking over as Mayor, a council seat has opened up. The new seat will be discussed at the City Council meeting, that was originally scheduled for Wednesday evening, but will now be held on Friday at 10AM at the Clayton City Courtroom.
