Two to be Sworn in Today

Today is the day for the swearing in of two Clayton City Council members.

With the turn of the calendar, comes the changing of a few faces in local government, including the City of Clayton.

Jordan Green, who was Mayor Pro-Tem when John Bradshaw announced his resignation in November, will be sworn in today as the new Mayor of Clayton, finishing the remainder of Bradshaw’s term. Green was selected by the City Council to become the mayor during last month’s meeting.

The City Council will also swear in Elizabeth Chapman, who was elected to the city council during the November election. Willie Fortson and Debbie Chisholm will remain on the council, as they were elected to another term.

The swearing in will take place today at 4PM, inside the Clayton City Courtroom. Clayton City Council Work Session is to follow.
