Clarkesville Mayor Election to be Held in March

Residents of Clarkesville will be casting their vote for a new Mayor, on the same day as the Presidential Preference Primary, March 1st.

Qualifying for this position will last only two days, beginning on January 27, and concluding on January 29. The qualifying fee is $35.

In the meantime, Clarkesville City Councilman Casey Ramsey was sworn in, will serve as mayor pro-tem, until the next Mayor is elected.

The election is for the completion of the term that was left unexpired shockingly, as the former mayor, Dr. Terry Greene, died of a gunshot wound after what was believed to be a domestic dispute on December 13.
