Clayton City Council Moving Forward After Bradshaw’s Resignation

The Clayton City Council met on Wednesday to discuss an array of items. One of the bigger items on the agenda was how the council would move forward following John Bradshaw’s resignation as mayor.

Bradshaw’s reign as Mayor ended on Wednesday at 5PM, after he submitted his resignation letter to the council. That was then, when the council nominated Mayor Pro Tem, Jordan Green, to the position of Mayor. Green would then resign from his seat on the council, and accept the nomination to complete the remainder of the term, which is for two years.

Green’s resignation leaves an open seat on the Clayton City Council. Green will have to nominate a qualified candidate to fill the spot, the council would then have to approve the appointment.

The Clayton City Council’s nomination of Jordan Green to take over as Mayor passed unanimously. More information will be available on this subject during next month’s council meeting.
