Three Members of the DARC receive Training at UGA

Three members of the Rabun County Development Authority recently completed Development Authority training provided by the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government for local leaders who have been appointed, or re-appointed to an authority.

Economic Development Manager Ryan Thornton, as well as members Jim Bleckley and Claude Dillard participated in the daylong basic training course to learn about their responsibilities as members of development authority boards, and the role that development authorities serve in the local economic development process. In addition, Thornton, Bleckley, and Dillard learned about strategic planning in community development, project development and management, and emerging issues that affect development authorities.
