Tiger Man Arrested in Home Invasion Incident

Deputies from the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Murry’s Cove Road in reference to a possible home invasion. Once on the scene, deputies found that the homeowner had been injured.

The homeowner stated that someone unknown had broken into her house and attacked her.

Investigators were called to the scene shortly after the deputies arrived, and the GBI was also called to assist in the investigation. After a few hours, the investigators identified a person of interest.

After 48 hours of collecting evidence and conducting interviews with the persons involved, investigators were able to arrest James Bentley Cannon, aged 38, of Tiger on charges of Home Invasion, False Imprisonment, Aggravated Assault, and Burglary.

The investigation is still on going, but at this point, investigators strongly feel that the victim was a target, and this was not a random act. More charges are possible.
