Stephens County Armed Robbery Suspect in Custody

One person is in custody after an alleged armed robbery in southern Stephens County.

Sheriff Randy Shirley said that the armed robbery report came in on Monday at about 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Dollar General store on Georgia Highway 106 in the New Hope community of Stephens County, near the Franklin County line.

Shirley said that his investigators continued to work the case and caught a break on Tuesday afternoon. The person arrested is identified as 22-year-old Geroshe La-quinn Lewis of Toccoa.

In Stephens County, Lewis now faces one count of Armed Robbery in connection to the incident at Dollar General. He remains in the Stephens County Jail at last report.

Rabun County K-9 units assisted the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office in the search for Lewis.
