Ready Georgia Provides Tips During these Cold Months

With winter temperatures finally arriving in the North Georgia Mountains, it is important to make sure that your home is safe from a possible fire.

Ready Georgia has released information on how to prevent a home fire, including only plugging in one heat producing appliance, such as a space heater, into a socket at one time. Also, to keep objects at least three feet away from all heat producing appliances.

Ready Georgia also says that half of all heating related house fires occur between the months of December and February, and that heaters are involved in one out of every 6 fires, and 1 in every 5 deaths related to house fires.
