New Partner for FoodBank

The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia’s Food Hub in Clayton, GA now has a new partner, the Society of St. Andrew, a nationwide non-profit hunger relief organization. Their goal is to provide fresh produce to feed low income residents of northeast Georgia. Volunteers will work with local farmers to “glean” or harvest fruit and vegetables that cannot be sent to market because of size or blemishes, but that can provide excellent nutrition to children, elderly adults and families that may be “food insecure”, which for lack of better terms, means they do not know where their next meal will come from. For more information or to become involved in this meaningful ministry, you can call SoSA Georgia Coordinator Sandi Newman at 229-386-5800.
