Lillian E Smith Center Ready for wildlife walk

The Piedmont College Lillian E. Smith Center will hold a wildlife walk from 8–10 a.m., Friday, May 13. Jack Johnston, a native plant specialist and avid birder, will lead the walk through forest trails of the Center’s wildlife sanctuary area.

The public is invited, but space is limited for the guided nature walk. The cost per person for the two-hour excursion is $5. Those interested should contact Craig Amason at [email protected] or call 706-894-4204 to reserve their space.

Piedmont’s 150-acre Lillian E. Smith Center, located near Clayton, serves as an artist retreat and outdoor classrooms, and the college recently designated about 30 acres as a wildlife sanctuary.
