Early Voting Numbers Are High Currently in Rabun County

Early Voting for the District 8 Runoff between Rabun County natives Kent Woerner, and Matt Gurtler got underway last week. A week into early voting, many people have taken time to participate, says board of elections supervisor, Tammy Whitmire.

According to Whitmire, she says that “We have had a reasonable turnout for this first week. We have had approximately 229 people come by to early vote (as of Friday, July 8). We sent out approximately 500 absentee ballots already, and have received approximately 200 of those. We are off to a good start.”

Today kicks off week two of early voting, and with it, comes a special Saturday vote. The Board of Elections will be opened this Saturday, July 16, from 9AM, until 4PM. Early voting continues this week from 8:30AM until 5PM, Monday through Friday.
