Wood Chipper stolen in Tiger

A felony theft by taking is under investigation by the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.  On September 8, a deputy was dispatched to the field across the street from Goats on the Roof to speak with the foreman of the Townsend Tree Company about a theft.  The foreman said that they parked their vehicle in the field on Friday and came back Tuesday after the holiday and their Vermeer BC 1200 wood chipper had been stolen from behind the truck.  The wood chipper is valued at $30,000.  The deputy entered it into the Georgia Crime Information Center database as stolen.
