What Men Should Know About Heart Disease

Last week marked the 20th annual National Men’s Health Week and Doctor Timothy Scott Beck says as men get older they should be aware of heart disease and what causes it…

“Heart disease is what kills a lot of the men in our communities. Now heart disease is usually directly related to obesity, the presence of diabetes, smoking, lack of exercise, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and all those things we know contribute to men and having their heart disease.”

Dr. Beck gives some tips to help men prevent heart disease…

“Throw your Coke-a-colas out the window, along with your cigarettes. A lot of men I know work very hard, working does not constitute exercise. Actually taking exercise and making it a part of your day really can make an impact on the length and the quality of life for men.”
