Weekend Festival a Success

The Foxfire Mountaineer Festival is deemed a success by event organizers.

The Director of the Festival Tonya Rolaider gave the final numbers regarding attendance and the amount of money that was raised.

“We had approximately 5,100 people out, and we raised over $20,000,” said Rolaider. “It was a great Saturday.”

Rolaider explained what that money goes towards.

“The festival has a portion of the admission, but everything else goes to the education scholarships and programs that Foxfire is responsible for,” said Rolaider. “They do so much in the schools, and we couldn’t be happier. It’s wonderful.”

The Foxfire Mountaineer Festival took place this past Saturday at the Rabun County Civic Center and Clayton City Hall and the area between the two.
