Water and Sewer authority Discusses Line for Rabun Gap Community School

The current Clayton Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority discusses a need of Rabun Gap Nacoochee School.

At the board’s meeting Tuesday morning, one item on the agenda was a Water Line to run to the old Rabun Gap Community School recently acquired by RGNS.

Water and Sewer Authority member Butch Darnell said that Dillard and the County has met with Rabun Gap Nacoochee School about the need for this line and some of the logistics for its installation.

“They’ve got to have, I believe, its an 8 inch line to meet the requirement for their sprinkler system,” said Darnell. “What we’re looking to do is when Dillard puts their system in, is come off there in Dillard and go up Betty’s Creek Road.”

Darnell said that there is the question of how to pay for that line.

“Rabun Gap Nacoochee School has offered some money on this,” said Darnell, “but we want to make sure that when the line is installed it is our line. So if we need to step in and pay for a majority of this we will.”

The authority also discussed the Highway 441 Sanitary Sewer System Expansion Project at their meeting Tuesday.
