Waste Water Plant Suffers Two Spills

The Clayton Waste Water Plant has experienced 3 of what the EPD classifies as majors spills in the last couple of weeks. Superintendent of Water Treatment Scott Heaton says measures are be taken to fix the problem including replacing faulty equipment and testing and cleaning of water…
“What our problem really is, it’s just we have to many solids in the holding in the water at the waste water plant. We bought a Huber screw press.”
Heaton thinks the problem will be fixed soon…
“We’re working as hard as we can to get rid of all the extra solids in the basins and stuff. I think we’ll be better soon.”
