Search warrant turns up 27 grams of meth, leads to arrest of Toccoa man

TOCCOA Last Saturday, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office recovered 27 grams of methamphetamine and alprazolam prescription pills.

According to the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO), a search warrant was executed on Jan. 13 in Toccoa at Timothy Roger Wilmont’s residence to locate and recover stolen property.

The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office did not locate the stolen property but did find a substantial amount of methamphetamine and schedule IV prescription pills.

Wilmont, 53, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance alprazolam.

The approximate street value of the illegal narcotics is $3,000 according to law enforcement who recovered the drugs.

Wilmont was transported to the Stephens County Detention Center upon his arrest. More charges may develop as the investigation continues.
