Volunteers needed
Rabun Chapter of Trout Unlimited reports work off some holiday calories while improving local trout streams! Sign up to participate in the Hale Ridge Stream Channel Restoration in Clayton. This work will improve trout habitat in the West Fork of the Chattooga and associated small brook trout streams. Four volunteers are needed each day from December 2-18. Volunteers will assist with filling sandbags, installing dewatering dams and pumps, and other tasks. Work will go each day from 8am to 5pm. You can stay as long as you’d like. Project managers will contact people a couple days before to confirm they are needed. Volunteers will report to the site, 3530 Hale Ridge Rd, Clayton (near Mt. Zion Baptist Church). Sign up at https://doodle.com/…/f3ce3c03-3d21-4acf-ad6b…/select. This project is coordinated by Jeff Wright, Southern Appalachians Program Manager for Trout Unlimited.
