Updated COVID-19 Numbers Show Cases Declining in Northeast Georgia

District 2 Public Health is reporting that Northeast Georgia is seeing a decline in COVID-19 cases following the Omicron surge.

According to data from D2PH, Rabun County’s percent positive rate was down to 26.3%. Since the pandemic began in March of 2020, there have been 2,704 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Rabun County, 239 hospitalizations, and 72 deaths.

In Habersham County, the percent positive rate was down to 34.5%. The positive cases in Habersham County since March of 2020 was at 8,179, with 675 hospitalizations, and 215 deaths.
