UGA QB Jake Fromm suffers hand injury from boating accident on Lake Burton

Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm suffered a broken hand in a boating accident but “won’t miss a beat” as far as his football career goes, DawgNation.com has confirmed.

Fromm suffered a “small fracture” of his left, non-throwing hand when he was sitting in the back of a boat while someone else wake-boarded on Lake Burton Tuesday, according to persons with direct knowledge of the incident. When the skier fell and let go of the rope, the handle flew back in the boat and hit Fromm on the left hand.

Sr. Associate Athletic Director Claude Felton told WRBN/WGHC News, “Fromm is expected to be in a splint for a few weeks and not only won’t miss any games as a result but won’t miss any practice time. He is expected to participate in the Bulldogs’ 7-on-7 drills Thursday.”

Summer leisure accidents aren’t unusual at Georgia or anywhere else in college football. Two years ago star tailback Sony Michel suffered a broken arm in an ATV accident about this time of year
