Two Traffic Stops land Same Man in Jail on Meth Charges

Two separate traffic stops in the same week land a Mountain City man in jail on methamphetamine charges.  On March 26, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 2006 Dodge Caravan for a brake light requirement, a turn signal requirement, and failure to maintain lane.  During the stop, a used syringe and an unknown amount of suspected methamphetamine were located.  The deputy arrested 67-year-old Jerry Lee Kell of Mountain City for possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession and use of drug-related objects.  Then on March 30, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the same 2006 Dodge Caravan for a brake light violation.  The deputy received consent to search the vehicle and discovered a quantity of methamphetamine and packing material associated with the distribution of illegal narcotics in the property belonging to Kell.  He was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
