Two individuals arrested for manufacturing meth with infant inside home

Two individuals were arrested in Rabun Gap and now face a slew of drug-related charges after deputies learned they were allegedly manufacturing meth with a six-month-old infant inside the residence.

According to deputies with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement was notified of a tip from the Department of Family and Children’s Services (DFACS) that claimed two individuals along with a six-month-old infant were residing in a home located on Wolfork Road.

The complainant stated that Michael Frady and Ashlyn Wilburn would use methamphetamine on a daily basis, around the infant child according to the police report.

The report further states that Frady, 20, would sell methamphetamine out of the house and was known for cooking methamphetamine in the back bedroom of the residence.

When deputies arrived on scene, they observed several short hoses, which is commonly used for cooking methamphetamine.

After obtaining consent to search the home, authorities also observed a security camera that was live streaming footage of the driveway, so traffic could be seen.

During the search of the residence, deputies found the following: five smoking devices to ingest methamphetamine, a digital scale, small plastic baggies found in the child’s bedroom drawers, three county road signs from Black Rock Mtn PKWY, Frady Lane and Stone St, 82 counterfeit one hundred dollar bills, a 9mm handgun located within reach of the bed, two loaded magazines as well as two safes.

When Frady was questioned about the safes, he told deputies he had no key to open them – both were seized by law enforcement and are being tested for evidence.

Wilburn and Frady were arrested and charged with possession and use of drug-related objects, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and forgery – 2nd degree.
