Two Crashes in Rabun County

Deputies with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office recently responded to two crashes.  The first occurred at approximately 2:46pm on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, on Georgia 15 at its intersection with Derringer Lane.  According to the motor vehicle crash report, a 72-year-old driver of a 2017 Ford moved from the right lane of traffic into the left lane of traffic and struck a 70-year-old driver of a 2017 Toyota Highlander.  Fortunately, neither party was injured in the two-vehicle accident. The second wreck happened at 10:25pm on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, on 76 West at its intersection with Germany Mountain Road. Deputies report that a 16-year-old driver of a 2001 BMW X5 lost control of the vehicle and drifted into a ditch, whereupon the car jumped a culvert.  Fortunately, the driver was not injured in the single-vehicle accident.
