Two Crashes in Rabun Co.

Two crashes occurred this week in Rabun County.  According to the motor vehicle crash report from the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office, on Sept. 16, at 12:50pm on Georgia 15 at its intersection with West Langston Road in Mountain City, a 15-year-old driver of a 2006 Chevy Cobalt stated to a deputy that she swerved to miss an opossum and struck a power pole instead.  Fortunately, no one was injured in the single-vehicle accident. The second wreck happened on Sept. 17, around 4am on Bethel Road near Tiger Connector Road. It involved a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle that was attempting to stop but used an incorrect braking method and overturned. The 22-year-old driver was taken by Rabun County EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the single-vehicle accident.
