Two arrested for DUI

Two people stand charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after recent traffic incidents in Rabun County.  On Jan. 12, a deputy with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office was on routine patrol on Georgia 15 when they observed a 2018 Dodge Ram fail to maintain lane multiple times and initiated a traffic stop.  When speaking with the driver, 31-year-old Bryan Daniel Dye of Eatonton, the deputy smelled alcohol on his breath. After failing the field sobriety tests, Dye was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to maintain lane, and failure to have a license on person.  The second DUI arrest came on Jan. 15, when deputies responded to calls concerning a motor vehicle crash on Bradford Road. Upon arrival, deputies saw a 2003 Chevrolet 1500 on its top in the middle of the road. Deputies located the driver, 23-year-old Nathan Lee Henslee of Clayton, in some nearby woods and arrested him for driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to report striking a fixed object, driving on roadway laned for traffic, hit and run, and battery.
