Trucker Survives Dead Man’s Curve

Overturned Semi BA semi truck overturned in Dead man’s curve on Hwy 246 in Sky Valley during the noon hour today. Adam Wright, traveling the same road at that time, witnessed the incident…

“Well I was two cars behind the semi, and it’s brakes were burning all the way down the mountain, and I kind of backed off of him, and we got to that last curve as you pass the overlook of Dillard.  I saw him go around the curve, wondering if he would make it, when I came around the curve he was overturned. Several other people stopped that were behind me, to go check on the man, and so I just kind of took it upon myself to help direct traffic with another gentleman until law enforcement got there.”

Georgia State Patrol, Fire Station 1 in Clayton, and members of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene of the one vehicle wreck. The driver was transported to Mountain Lakes for non-life threatening injuries. GSP on scene said charges are pending a full investigation of the accident.  Clean up of the wreck is expected to last into the early evening hours.
