Toccoa man arrested on grand larceny charges

A Toccoa man has been arrested in Oconee County, South Carolina.

According to a report issued by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, Michael Dean Bledsoe, 29, of Toccoa faces multiple charges including grand larceny, malicious injury to real property, and obtaining signature or property under false pretense.

Bledsoe was hired as a contractor to remodel a home near Lake Keowee, located at 214 Shoreline Drive, in Seneca, South Carolina.

Sgt. James Hellams with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office says he responded to a call, in reference to Bledsoe steeling items from a job site.

Hellams spoke with the victim who told him that he had hired Bledsoe in October of 2018 to complete the job; however, the job was never completed.

The victim says Bledsoe purchased close to $26,000 worth of materials that were never installed or returned.

Bledsoe has been arrested and taken to the Oconee County Detention Center.
