Three Recent Drug Arrests in Rabun County
Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office made three recent drug arrests in the county. On March 30, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer for a tag light violation. During the stop, K9 Doug was deployed and a search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search of the vehicle plastic baggies containing suspected methamphetamine were located. The deputy arrested 62-year-old Michael Lavarin Nicks of Toccoa for possession of methamphetamine and 54-year-old Robin Lynn Talley of Clayton for possession of methamphetamine and possession and use of drug-related objects. Both were transported to the Rabun County Detention Center for booking. On April 10, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on a 2014 Mercedes Benz for failure to maintain lane. When speaking with the driver, 34-year-old Bryan Andrew Dunn of Highlands, North Carolina, the deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and two baggies of suspected marijuana, as well as a burned self-rolled cigar, were discovered. The deputy arrested Dunn for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, driving while license suspended, and failure to maintain lane. He was transported to the Rabun County Detention Center for booking.
