Thief Leaves Calling Card at Scene of Crime

downloadThe scene of a theft investigated by the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office this morning led to several arrest, says Chief Investigator Jack Tanksley…

“Sergeant Kenneth Watts was responding to a theft call in the Bridge Creek area, when he was there, he was checking around and seen some trash leading to a parking lot of a church. In the parking lot he found a, looks like a postcard, with somebody’s name on it.”

The small piece of mail proved to be a huge break in the investigation…

“We recognized the name, we went to the residence where this person lives, and while we were there, when we arrived on scene, we found a lot of stolen items that were reported stolen from this house(on Bridge Creek). Ended up arresting three males and one female.”

Arrested for burglary and Obstruction were, 26 year old Kevin Gerberg of Tiger, 25 year old Joshua Ramey also of Tiger, and 20 year old Nathan Antes of Franklin, N.C.. All three have also now been tied to recent thefts that have taken place in Habersham County and will most likely be transported there before being giving a bond. 27 year old Kayla Ramey was also taking in on Obstruction charges and has been released from the Rabun County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.
