TFS Students represent the County and Tallulah Falls Aquatics at Statewide Competitions

Tallulah Falls School (TFS) reports in July, the Tallulah Falls Aquatics (TFA) Club participated in state-wide competitions. TFA placed second at the North Georgia Swim League Championships before swimmers from the Tallulah Falls Aquatics Club and other Habersham swimmers represented Habersham County at the 2024 Georgia Recreation and Parks Association Statewide Swimming Championship in Moultrie, Georgia. Fifteen of the sixteen Tallulah Falls Torrents swimmers are TFS students. This is the third year TFA has competed at the championship. The combined team placed fourth out of 12 counties. The boys placed fourth, and the girls placed third. The group had nine top-three finishers, including Ida Patterson, who placed first in the 50 breast. The team enjoys traveling together and cheering for each other as they compete. “I loved cheering on my team; that’s my favorite part,” said Mattie Patterson. I was happy that I was able to put all the hard work I had done into this competition. It definitely paid off.” Head club swim coach Harrison Butler said TFA had overwhelming success at all season-ending competitions, with over 90% personal bests and tremendous time improvements from last year. In addition, Logan Thompson and Henry Dumas were part of TFA’s Age Group State Team, competing against the top 14 and under swimmers in Georgia.
