TFS Middle School boys A Team overcomes 16-point Deficit in Win

Brian Carter, Director of Sports Communication and Digital Media at Tallulah Falls School (TFS) reports the TFS boys basketball teams earned a Tuesday split at Lanier Christian, with the A Team winning in dramatic fashion, 50-44. The B Team fell 42-24.  The A Team overcame a 16-point deficit, rallying back to take a 6-point win. Tanner Davis led the way with 10 points, while Clay Kafsky and Teryk Tilley both had 8 points.  The boys trailed 13-5 after the first quarter, and Lanier Christian stretched it to 24-15 going into the break. LCA used the deep ball, getting 18 of their points on 3-pointers, compared to just one three by the Indians. By the end of the third, TFS had taken a 38-36 lead, outscoring LCA 24-12 in the third quarter. The Indians never looked back in securing a 50-44 win.  The A Team is 1-0 on the season, and will play again Saturday again against LCA, this time at home.  The B Team fell 42-24, and struggled in the second quarter with just three points. The boys found themselves down 15-6 at the end of one, and 27-9 at the half.  The third quarter saw the Indians bounce back with a few buckets, but by then Lanier Christian had a commanding 36-17 lead. Elijah Barker led the way with 12 points, while Merrick Carnes added 5 in the loss.  The B Team is 0-2 overall, and return to action on Thursday at home against Woody Gap.
