TFS Coaches name Indians of the Week
Tallulah Falls School (TFS) coaches have selected their first Indian Athletes of the Week for Aug. 19-23. Eighth grader Xiaoyang Wu of China was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school boys soccer coach Travis Mullis. “Possessing good skills on the field, ‘Wu’ is already offering promise to the future competitive success of his team,” Mullis said. “However, his generosity in spirit is what makes Wu really stand out. Recently after taking team photos, he remained behind to fold jerseys for storage. He has also acted as a translator when communication between his coaches and players was confusing.”
Eighth grader Addy McCoy Cornelia was named an Indian of the Week by middle school volleyball coach Whittney LaHayne. “Addy is such a blessing to have on our team,” LaHayne said. “She is a leader in so many ways. Addy shows GREAT character on and off the court. She is a determined and focused player who always listens and tries to improve daily.”
Sophomore Allie Dalton of Baldwin was named an Indian of the Week by varsity volleyball coach Matthew Heyl. “Allie took on a huge assignment this weekend in the Brookwood Aloha Volleyball Bash,” Heyl said. “With our starting setter out for a few days she faced the toughest competition we will encounter until the State tournament. Not only did Allie fill the most important position in volleyball but she had to run an offensive system that she had never run. Watching her fill this role as a sophomore and not falter was an amazing feat.”
Junior David Rodriguez Moreno of Spain was selected as an Indian of the Week by varsity soccer coach Brett Adams. “David is a wonderful addition to the men’s soccer program at TFS,” Adams said. “He is constantly improving his technical and tactical abilities throughout practices and games. David has played well in games this past week and sets a constant example of hard work and sacrifice for his teammates.”
