TFS Coaches name Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School (TFS) coaches have selected Indian Athletes of the Week for Sept. 23-28.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Eighth-grader Susie Sun of Clarkesville was named an Indian of the Week by middle school tennis coach Lisa Wilcox. “Susie plays her heart out,” Wilcox said. “She has improved tremendously and her game shows it. Against Rabun County, Susie was hitting from the baseline then coming into the net for overhead wins. She and her doubles partner easily won their match 8-0. I see great things in the future in tennis for Susie.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Eighth-grader Eli Damron of Tiger was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school soccer coach Travis Mullis. “After last season Eli took the time to enhance his skills by joining a team during the spring,” Mullis said. “This season he provided instant quality to the team’s defense. Regarding toughness, Eli is a real warrior.”

HIGH SCHOOL GIRL

Junior Hannah Hunt of Toccoa was named an Indian of the Week by junior varsity volleyball coach Matthew Crotta. “Hannah has been consistently solid for our team not only last week but all season long,” Crotta said. “She is the rock of this team and has carried us with her competitive spirit every match. Hannah has always been one to make her serves, get multiple ‘kills’ and play great defense each match.”

HIGH SCHOOL BOY

Sophomore Zi Shrek Wang of China was named an Indian of the Week by cross country coach Scott Neal. “Zi recently ran closely even mile splits for a new personal record of 20:39 on the tough TFS cross country course,” Neal said. “This placed him in the top half in challenging competition at the 8th annual Heroes Invite. Zi moved into the No. 5 team spot and onto the course Legacy List.”
