TFS Coaches name Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School (TFS) coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for December 2-7.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Sixth-grader Carsyn Griffis of Tallulah Falls was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school swim coach Rachel Nichols. “Carsyn is dedicated to her team and always arrives to practice prepared, on time and determined to work hard,” Nichols said. “She maintains a positive attitude throughout practice and during meets, no matter how external factors may be affecting her. Carsyn swam to personal best times and scored 26 points as an individual to assist her team’s overall standing at the Jingle Jam Invitational this past weekend.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Seventh-grader Clay Kafsky of Clarkesville was named an Indian of the Week by middle school swim coach Rachel Nichols. “Clay is constantly striving to improve his swim technique,” Nichols said. “He asks his coaches how he can improve throughout practice and applies the feedback he receives immediately. This drive to improve was reflected through his performances as Clay had two personal best swims and scored 20 points at the Jingle Jam invitational meet this past weekend.”

VARSITY GIRL

Junior Katy Corbett of Lakemont was selected as an Indian of the Week by varsity girls’ assistant coach Brianna Webb. “After losing to undefeated Union County last week, the team was looking for someone to step up and pull the team together,” Webb said. During Saturday’s game against Atlanta International, Katy brought the intensity and leadership we needed. She had 22 points with three assists and four steals. She set the TFS record for most 3-pointers in a game with six. We are proud of her leadership and excited to watch her grow.”

VARSITY BOY

Junior Simeon Respress of Cleveland was named an Indian of the Week by varsity boys’ basketball coach Cody Coleman. “Simeon showed great defensive effort and toughness during our recent game at Wesleyan,” Coleman said. “Through his energy, Simeon helped the Indians have a great defensive game. Simeon led the team by taking two charges and deflecting several passes.”
