TFS Coaches name Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School (TFS) coaches have selected Indian Athletes of the Week for Nov. 4-9.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Eighth-grader Allie Phasavang of Clarkesville was named a middle school Indian of the Week by middle school girls basketball coach Sharea Long. “Allie has embraced a new school, new athletic system, and new environment this year and she has adjusted very well,” said Long. “She works hard every day and leads by example on the court.  I am looking forward to seeing what this season holds for her and our middle school team.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Seventh-grader Teryk Tilley of Tallulah Falls was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school boys basketball ‘A’ squad coach Tom Tilley. “Aside from being one of the hardest workers on the court, Teryk has an uncanny ability to remember plays and help teammates remember their positions for that play,” Tilley said. “This type of leadership is in conjunction with contributing in other areas of performance. At our recent “Basketball Madness” event, Teryk was two-for-two from the floor, snatched four rebounds, captured two deflections and had one steal. It was a solid performance for one-quarter of play.”

VARSITY GIRL

Junior Abby Carlan of Baldwin was named an Indian of the Week by varsity basketball coach Brandy Corbett. “Abby gives maximum effort at all times,” said Corbett. “She is relentless on the defensive end of the court and is working very hard to improve her game on the offensive end. Abby not only gives her best during practice but is also a student of the game off the court. When asked to analyze film, Abby gives a full, descriptive report of each individual’s strengths and weaknesses. She controls the variables she is capable of controlling in her quest to be both her personal best and the best teammate she can be.”

VARSITY BOY

Junior Logan Huling of Mt. Airy was selected as an Indian of the Week by swim coach Rachel Nichols. “Logan is a veteran swimmer who has taken the initiative to better himself as both a swimmer and a teammate,” said Nichols. “He always has a positive attitude at practices and meets. I am proud to announce Logan as our Indian of the Week.”
