TFS Baseball wins Second Straight

The Tallulah Falls School (TFS) Indians evened their region record as the offense came alive late in an 11-4 win over Commerce at home, reports TFS Athletics.  It was a scoreless game until the fourth, when Rohajae Pinder laced a 2-out, 2-run double to right for the game’s first score. Commerce responded with a 3-spot in the top of the fifth. TFS got 2 of those runs back in the home half, courtesy of an RBI double by Danny Grant followed by an RBI single off the bat of Ashton Roache. The Indians went ahead 4-3 and never relinquished the lead.  The rest of the damage came with a 7-run sixth inning for the Indians. Tyler Farmer got in a run on a fielder’s choice, then Zaiden Cox singled home Pinder. A 2-run single by Grant pushed the lead to 8-3, but Tallulah Falls still had some offense left. Two more runs came home on a wild pitch, and Pinder recorded a bases-loaded walk for the final tally. Commerce added a single run in the final frame, but TFS walked away with their second straight victory.  The 14-hit effort featured seven players with hits, including Grant’s 4-for-4 performance that came with 2 doubles, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored. Cox had a 3-hit game with an RBI, 2 runs, and 2 stolen bases. Caden Walker and Pinder both had 2 hits apiece, with the latter collecting 2 RBI.  Cole Bonitatibus notched the win on the mound, as he went 5 strong innings while surrendering 2 earned runs against 5 hits and a walk. He struck out 5. Frankey Moree went the final frames, recording 4 strikeouts across both innings of work, earning the save as he came in with a 4-3 lead.  The Indians are 5-6 overall and now 2-2 in Region 8-A DI.
