Tech Improvement Coming to the Business Park

The Rabun Business Park has some technology improvements coming its way.

The Joint Development Authority met on Tuesday, and the Executive Director of the Development Authority of Rabun County Ray Coulombe said that the JDA has put the process of getting fiber to the Rabun Business Park into action.

“The big news is, they signed the contract,” said Coulombe.  “The 180 day construction period started October 2nd.”

North Georgia Network will be installing the fiber, which will provide the Business Park with redundant fiber.

Coulombe explained what the redundant fiber means in terms of producing jobs at the Business Park.

“Critical if we’re going to try to get call centers and data centers,” said Coulombe.  “That’s why it’s really really important to us.”

A ribbon cutting for the project is being planned at this time.
