Storm and Wreck Cause Power Outages

After Monday night’s storm and a wreck on Tuesday caused power outages, everything is back to normal.

Severe storms that came through Clayton and Rabun County Monday night knocked out power to several hundred customers, according to Georgia Power Area Manager Greg Brown.

Brown said that crews worked through the night, and that outages due to the storm have been remedied.

Brown said more people in the city of Clayton were without power Tuesday following a single vehicle accident.

“A car on Polly Gap Road and hit and broke a 50 foot power pole,” said Brown. “It had to be replaced.”

Brown said that repairs finished at that location Tuesday afternoon.
