State Roads Better than Expected in Rabun
The winter weather warning for Rabun County has been lifted, though a winter weather advisory does remain in effect for the area. Georgia DOT Communications Officer, Terri Pope says the Roads in Rabun County are better than expected to be this morning…
“Rabun County is Clear. There is not anything actively reported for Rabun County right now, but we still urge caution with the black ice, we are starting to have icing, I’ve got reports of it in Lavonia, and Stephens County also has a lot of trees down.”
DOT crews have been working the area overnight…
“We’ve been working overnight to make sure we get stone and salt on all the bridges, and haven’t had any reports of icing on bridges, so far it’s just been patchy on roadways.”
We will continue to update you throughout the day with weather and road conditions as they change.
