State of Ga vs Travis Groom Begins

The trial of the State of Georgia vs Travis Groom began late Monday. Both sides made opening statements and are now hearing testimonies from witnesses. Public defender Drew Powell had this to say about the case…

“Our client has admitted to shooting him, our client you know is saying that he was justified that it was self defense. So the heart of the matter is coming up later this afternoon and tomorrow.”

D.A. Brian Rickman thinks the Trial should end before the week is up…

” I think both sides probably expect the case to last through Thursday, maybe Friday, but probably Thursday the way things are proceeding.”

The prosecution has one more witness to call when court resumes today then the defense will start its case. Brian Rickman.
