Sky Valley reported as having highest snowfall accumulation in NE Georgia

According to the National Weather Service, Sky Valley received nearly eight inches of snow from Winter Storm Diego that rolled through Rabun this past weekend.

Sky Valley was reported as having the highest amount of snow accumulation in the entire Northeast Georgia region.

Other parts of the county such as Clayton, measured in at aproximentley five inches while Dillard received only three inches according to the daily precipitation charts.

Despite the amount, the snowfall was enough to knock out power and trees across the county. But after nearly a week of restoration efforts, all power has been restored by both Georgia Power and Habersham EMC.

Road crews will continue working to clear trees on either side of the roadways.
