The National Hockey League and NHL Players Association met for several hours through the early afternoon on Tuesday, with a significant proposal from NHL commissioner Gary Bettman on the table. If the NHLPA accepts the terms, a full 82-game regular season would be set to begin in early November.

The NFL will double its exposure in the United Kingdom next season, with the league announcing two regular-season contests: one between the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh which will be held at London’s Wembley Stadium in August. The other between the New England Patriots and St. Louis Rams in October.
