The NFL and the NFL Referees Association reached an agreement late Wednesday night on an eight-year collective bargaining agreement, subject to ratification by the Referees Association. The agreement comes almost exactly 48 hours after the highly controversial ruling that decided Monday’s game between the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks.

 

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was fined $50,000 on Wednesday for making contact with an official. Belichick grabbed the arm of an official while he was running off the field following New England’s 31-30 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The NFL said the coach made “impermissible physical contact with an official”, resulting in the fine.

 

The Cleveland Browns take on the Baltimore Raven tonight in Thursday night football.

After the Cardinals lost in Houston, the Braves were assured of finishing as the top National League wild card team and would host a one-game playoff on Oct. 5.
