Lou Williams scored 18 points for the Hawks, including three straight 3-pointers that whittled the Warriors’ lead to a basket with 11.2 seconds remaining, but that would not be enough. Josh Smith added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Atlanta, which had Al Horford and Devin Harris out because of a stomach illness.
NFL
Week 11 of the NFL season gets underway on Thursday with an AFC East battle as the Buffalo Bills host the Miami Dolphins. Each team lost their matchup the week before as Buffalo dropped a shootout in New England while Miami got trounced at home by Tennessee. The Dolphins won both games against the Bills last season.

New York Mets pitcher R.A. Dickey capped a storybook 2012 season by being named the National League’s Cy Young Award winner by the Baseball Writers Association of America, with Tampa Bay Rays southpaw David Price capturing the honor in the American League when results were released on Wednesday.
