Saturday is National Public Lands Day

National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer event for public lands, held annually on the fourth Saturday in September. Since 1979, National Public Lands Day has brought together hundreds of thousands of volunteers to help restore America’s public lands.  The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest of the U.S. Forest Service will host several activities on Saturday, September 24, 2022.  National Public Lands Day is also a “Fee-Free Day”—one of only five days a year when entrance fees are waived at national parks and other public lands.  This year’s National Public Lands Day theme is Giving Back Together.
