Rogers third, Erwin fourth in season-opening match

Tallulah Falls School (TFS) Athletics reports the success of the TFS Precision Rifle team continues, as the National Champions opened the 2024-25 season in Anniston, Alabama this past Saturday with a podium finish at the Southeast Regional CMP Monthly match. For a seventh consecutive match, TFS was represented on the podium. Three of four returning athletes competed in the 3 Position 3×20 match — Leah Rogers, Chloe Erwin, and Mitchell McGahee. Rogers finished second in the qualification match, firing a 584. That is equivalent to a pair of state meet cuts. Erwin was fourth in that round with a 582, and McGahee 12th at 563. In the 8-person finals round, Rogers came in third to take the Bronze, while Erwin was fourth at only one-tenth of a point behind Rogers. “These two ladies finished in reverse order at the last Regional Monthly, with Chloe earning the Bronze medal,” adds coach Tim Stamey. “All three athletes lettered in the first match of the season.”
