‘Rock House Ramble’ to debut this month

CLAYTON Thanks to the hard work and creativity of Rabun County’s Venue Director Annie Williams, Clayton will now have a chance to enjoy all things musical and crafty on the lawn of the Rock House.

The “pop-up” style pilot project will kick off for the summer season on Friday, May 18 with local talent Scott Low headlining the first day. The live music will begin on Friday evenings from 5 – 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 1 – 4 p.m. and will feature a variety of different artists for each set.

Accompanying the live music on the lawn of the Rock House will also be unique, fresh and one-of-a-kind shopping from an assortment of vendors.

Williams said originally the idea to create the Rock House Ramble originated when she realized that throughout the summer months, most of the local businesses closed their shops on Sunday – leaving no options for people looking to visit downtown on that day.

As a solution, she implemented a way to bring people in the community together and enjoy free festivities on Sunday. Later, she said, Fridays were added to the mix to enhance the already active downtown crowd.

For any musicians or artists interested in procuring a slot, Williams said any and all are welcome to contact her at [email protected]
