Recent Wrecks in Rabun County

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked four recent wrecks in the county.  The first crash happened at 3am on August 25, in the Rabun County Elementary School back parking area when a 2019 Freightliner struck a 2019 Blue Bird bus while backing up.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.  The second wreck occurred at 12:23pm on August 25, on Highway 76 East when a 2004 Suzuki XL7 left the roadway and struck an embankment.  The driver was taken by Rabun County EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.  The third crash took place at 11am on August 27, on Screamer Drive when a 2019 Ford Ranger hit a tree while backing into a driveway.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.  The fourth wreck happened at 7:15pm on Sonya Road when a Workhorse ST350’s brakes went out, overturned, and ejected the driver and three passengers.  The driver and one of the passengers were taken by Rabun County EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
