RCSO distributes ‘CHAMPS’ awards to local elementary students

TIGER On Thursday, the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office participated in the fifth-grade awards ceremony, awarding all students with certificates for completing the CHAMPS program.

According to Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols, CHAMPS is offered to provide an educational program for Georgia’s youth, which provides guidance, and the skills, ability and knowledge to be safe, healthy, and happy, in preparation for a successful life.

First place was Melanie Aquino, second place was Madilyn Gipson, and third place was Jaden Horner. The overall CHAMPS award winner was Skylar Spivey.

“We had a great year with all the fifth-grade students and wish them the best as they move on to sixth grade,” Nichols said.
